Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Product Peek ("Product Peek", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our websites, apps, and related services (the "Service"), including product-peek.com and linked product pages.

1. Who we are

Product Peek provides digital product information tools, including multilingual product pages, QR codes, analytics, reviews, and AI-assisted features for businesses and their customers.

Questions about this policy: [email protected].

2. Information we collect

We collect information in these categories:

  • Account data: email address, display name, password (stored hashed by our auth provider), authentication factors, and profile details you provide.
  • Sign-in with third parties: if you use Google, Apple, or Facebook login, we receive identifiers and profile information those providers share with us (typically name and email), subject to your settings with that provider.
  • Business content: product information, brands, translations, QR codes, media, and other content you upload or generate in the Service.
  • Usage and analytics: QR scans, page views, approximate location signals (such as country derived from network data), device/browser metadata, social link clicks, and similar events needed to operate insights and security.
  • Reviews and feedback: ratings, comments, and related metadata submitted on public product pages.
  • Billing data: subscription and payment details processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers on our servers).
  • Support communications: messages you send us by email or other channels.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts
  • Host and display product pages and related content
  • Generate analytics, reports, and operational insights
  • Power optional AI features (for example summaries, translations, or assistance) using the content you provide
  • Process subscriptions and billing
  • Respond to support requests and important service notices
  • Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and comply with law

4. Legal bases

Where applicable (including the GDPR/UK GDPR), we process personal data based on: performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests in running and securing the Service; your consent where required (for example certain cookies or marketing); and legal obligations.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the Service (for example hosting, authentication, databases, email delivery, payments, and AI infrastructure), under appropriate agreements
  • Authentication providers you choose (Google, Apple, Facebook) to complete sign-in
  • The public when you publish product pages, reviews, or other content intended to be publicly accessible
  • Authorities or other parties when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service
  • Business transfers if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with appropriate safeguards

6. Public product pages

Content you publish on public product pages (including product details and customer reviews) may be visible to anyone with the link. Analytics derived from scans and visits may be available to the account that owns the product.

7. Cookies and similar tech

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences (such as language and accessibility), payments, and - only with your consent - product analytics (PostHog). Details of each cookie and storage key we use are listed in our Cookie Notice. You can accept, reject, or customize non-essential cookies via the consent banner, or manage preferences later from that page. Disabling some necessary cookies may affect sign-in or features.

8. Data retention

We retain account and service data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal requirements. You may request deletion of your account data via our data deletion instructions, subject to lawful retention needs.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage strong passwords and careful handling of account access.

10. International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected].

If you signed in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, you can also manage permissions and connected apps in that provider's account settings.

12. Children

The Service is directed to businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service or by email when appropriate.
